If you’re lucky—and ready for a little adventure—the rugged dirt road west will lead you to Polihale Beach Park, one of the most breathtaking, wild, and spiritual places on the island. The towering cliffs of the Na Pali coast watch over you as the sun melts into the horizon. But before you hit the beach, make sure to swing by Island Taco and double up on the cinnamon twists. Trust me, you’ll want two orders. They never make it past the first mile of that bumpy ride.
On the North Shore, it’s tradition: we jump off the Hanalei Pier. It’s a rite of passage, a pulse of joy, and a reminder to be present. And when the day is done? We celebrate with endless shave ice—no shame in having more than one a day. (It’s vacation, right?)
