From Parisian Inspiration to Wish: The French Pharmacy Find We Had to Bring Home
Some of our favorite finds at Wish Gifts don’t start at a trade show. They start with getting a little lost.
On our latest buying trip to New York, we carved out time for something we believe is just as important as buying: getting inspired.
Our stop? Printemps New York, the legendary French department store’s first U.S. location. And this wasn’t a run-in, look-around-and-leave kind of stop. We wandered.
We studied the displays. We noticed the details. We sipped a specialty mocktail while exploring the store. And, naturally, we found our way to the French pharmacy and beauty section.
That’s where we discovered something we knew belonged at Wish.
Meet Féret Parfumeur 🇫🇷
That happy yellow tin now in our hands is Le Baume by Féret Parfumeur, a heritage French beauty brand with roots dating back to 1878.
Féret is still a family-run French company, now in its sixth generation, and its products continue to be made in France. The brand combines the kind of things we love: history, beautiful retro packaging, wonderful fragrance and products that feel special enough to give but useful enough to buy for yourself.
Le Baume is a multi-use balm with the brand's signature powdery rose fragrance, designed to moisturize and soothe lips, hands, feet, skin, and nails. Rose and honey are central to the collection.

Why Travel Matters to Wish
Here’s the thing:
We could sit in Denver and order products from catalogs all day.
But that wouldn't make Wish Wish.
Travel lets us see how the best stores in the world merchandise. What they're putting together. What feels fresh. What makes us stop. What makes us pick something up. And, most importantly, what makes shopping feel like an experience again.
Printemps is a perfect example. Its New York store was intentionally designed around experiential retail, with individual spaces devoted to fashion, food, beauty and discovery, including an Apothecary and Beauty Corridor featuring French pharmacy favorites and products that can be difficult to find in the U.S.
We came to be inspired by the store. We left inspired by a product. And now that product is coming to Denver.
This Is How We Find the Good Stuff
Sometimes we find the next great Wish product at market.

Sometimes we spot it in a tiny shop halfway across the world.
And sometimes we're wandering through a French department store in New York with a mocktail in hand and think:
